This may well be my last article of 2024. To that end, I’d like to be the first to say that spending 2024 with you has been a privilege. I know the year wasn’t a privilege for everyone. 2024 brought its share of heartbreaks to the 135 families that we work with. And for you, I am very sorry for your losses, bad breaks and personal tragedy. But here’s wishing that 2025 restores your faith in family, humanity and all the great possibilities that lie ahead for each one of us.
For me, watching my 8 grandchildren turn into “people” has been a thrill. With 8 of them, and the oldest only 6 1/2 (she’d be bummed out if I omitted the 1/2), it seems that I notice changes every time I see them. They go from newborns to communicative human beings in no time, and I couldn’t be any prouder of their parents and the great job they are doing at parenthood.
2025 is going to be a transformative year for me. This coming year I transition to Chairman of the Board at Napier, GenWel and the Napier Family Office. I spent 2024 winding down my day to day involvement in the company and handing the reigns over to Alex, Rob and Tom Schulte.
I’ll be available to consult with management, opine on technical nerdy client matters and hold management accountable for the company’s strategic plan. A big part of my 2025 will be launching the making cents blog… let me know what you think.
2025 will create a lot more time to socialize with my family and the great friends and clients with whom I’ve built relationships… some for over 40 years.
I wish the best for a happy, healthy and fun 2025 and beyond. I know you can do it.
