There are a few modern-day traditions that now feel as official as the ball dropping in Times Square. One of them? Spotify Wrapped showing up unannounced and quietly judging us. Every December, it hands us a colorful, animated summary of who we really are – not who we think we are – based entirely on what we listen to while commuting, working, cooking dinner, or pretending we’re not checking email.
This year, one stat in particular caught our attention: Listening Age.
Not your actual age. Not how old you feel on a Monday morning. But the age Spotify believes you are, based on your music habits alone. And let’s just say… the results were humbling. Some of us apparently live in the golden age of classic rock. Others are thriving somewhere between indie playlists and throwback pop. A few may want to have a quiet conversation with Spotify about its conclusions.
What we love about Wrapped (beyond the mild roast) is how perfectly it fits this time of year. The New Year is basically Wrapped’s grown-up cousin. It’s the moment when we all look back, laugh a little, cringe a little, and take stock of what stuck – the habits, the routines, the comforts we kept returning to. Music, like most things, tells a pretty honest story about that.
So in the spirit of reflection (and fun), we asked a few members of the Napier team to share their Spotify listening age. No explanations required. No defending their playlists. Just the data, straight from Spotify, for better or worse. The results are below – and yes, we’re absolutely taking notes on who’s in charge of the office music next year.
As we head into the New Year, maybe that’s the takeaway: pay attention to the patterns. What you gravitate toward. What you replay. What helps you focus, unwind, or feel like yourself again. Whether it’s music, routines, or goals – those repeats usually mean something.
Now… scroll on to see how old Spotify thinks we are. And if you don’t agree with your own results? There’s always next year.
Alex: 65 (He’s an old soul.)

Adam: 17 (Since he was into mostly new music. This did not surprise us!)
Fletch: 49 (He’s got decades of good taste.)
Annie: 77 (Since she was into music from the Early 60s.)
Dante: 37 (Since he was into music from the Early 2000s.)
Yoyo: 33 (Hits with a hint of nostalgia.)
Laura: 88 (We’re honestly not too surprised by this one, either..)
