This holiday has changed dramatically for me over the past few years as I have watched my wife, Ashley, become an amazing mother. Not only do I think more highly of her and what she does day in day out, but I’m continually blown away by her dedication and focus to making sure all of our lives improve no matter how small something may seem.
Something fun to share about Ashley is her love for dipping sauces – specifically the honey mustard sauce at Town Spa in Stoughton. While Town Spa is known for its classic bar style pizza, you can get bottles of honey mustard to-go and I would highly recommend it to anyone. In our house, this sauce is affectionately referred to as ‘Mumma Sauce’ by our two girls. You can put it on a salad, dip your pizza in it, add some veggies, or just put a little on a spoon if you choose.
It has also been a joy being around our office and witnessing the transformation of many team members as they become mothers and parents (and this extends to clients and their families as well!) When I first started here, we didn’t have a single mother on the team. Fast-forward 15+ years and I’m surrounded by some of those same colleagues who are now parenting multiple children. For those of you who worked with Jenn, she is expecting her 3rd sometime later this month!
This weekend we will plan to spend time with all the mothers in our lives and give them big hugs while we’re lucky enough to do so. If you’re remembering the mothers who have already left us, may you be grateful for the times that you had together and honor her in a way that is especially meaningful to you. As Abraham Lincoln once said, “All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” May your Mother’s Day be full of flowers, hugs, and “Mumma sauce.”
Until next time…
(This is also your friendly reminder to get a card now while the store shelves are somewhat full).
