Summer’s officially here—well, almost. But we like to start the fun a little early. One thing that is synonymous to me with summer in New England is a good lobster roll. This past week after some pickup basketball, I was in a great debate of hot vs cold lobster rolls. My personal vote goes strongly in the cold lobster roll camp. It needs to be light on the mayo, and it should require a fork (to eat the top half off) before you pick it up to indulge.
Then the debate rolled to our favorite lobster roll locations. Since we do love our clients, you all get to benefit from our culled down list of favorites. In no particular order, here are the group’s top votes:
Sesuit Harbor Café: Set perfectly in a Harbor on the bay side of Cape Cod in Dennis, you can wait in line to get arguably my personal favorite. Best part is they have a robust menu to hit every side of your seafood or raw bar craving (or even just a regular sandwich for those who don’t like seafood!). It also is a BYOB and you sit outside on picnic tables. You will notice the professionals who bring glassware, plates, and table clothes!
Green Harbor Lobster Pound: A gem tucked away in Marshfield, MA has the largest lobster roll on the list. The perfect blend of lobster, mayo, and flavor. A similar setting to Sesuit, but a little closer to Boston.
Neptune Oyster: If you are in Boston for work, a wedding, or just fun this summer – slide over to Neptune in the North End and you will find an amazing hot or cold lobster roll. Let alone all of the other joyful things on the menu. Don’t forget to get a canolli from Mike’s Pastry after, you will not regret it!
I do not give out Michelin Star’s (yet), but these would be my top three between Boston and Cape Cod. If we’ve happened to have missed any of your favorites, please do share! I always love trying a new lobster roll location.
Until next time…
