The start of the year still feels fresh as most of the country is covered in snow, even the places that normally do not get it. When reflecting on my youth, when I think of snow, one thing that comes to mind is the endless weekends in the gym playing basketball. As it turns out, I am now bringing my girls to weekend basketball and being a spectator is quite fun. This is one of the many ways we like to win during the cold winter months.
Let’s get a dose of reality here – we have two girls, an almost 3-year-old and 5 ½-year-old, participating in basketball drills. No organized game. No refs. Just skills. But picture this – a dozen plus kids in each age group, with two adult coaches, and complete attention being kept the entire time. How does this happen? They focus on having fun despite having to wear sweatpants and sweatshirts in the gym!
Another little tradition that has started as a way to Win on Winter is we book a handful of our vacations for the year. Everything from a long weekend on Cape Cod in July, to a short stay in New Hampshire during the summer solstice, and even time to visit Mickey Mouse to get away from the frost during winter.
Building and putting the plan in motion feels great. Even before the implementation happens. Sound familiar? It should – it is like having a financial plan created, executing the recommendations, and then watching the fruits of your labor after you did all the hard work up front. Time to build and execute that plan: for your health, finances, or family – whatever is important to you.
Until next time…
